"Spirit Week"
This past week was Spirit Week at GCA.  The kids got to dress up as different things according to the theme of the day.  Monday was Twins day.  Makensie dressed up as her friend Adrian's twin and Matthew wasn't really into that too much. None of the guys were...lol!  On Tuesday they got to wear their favorite sports team attire.  We didn't have anything, so we went out to Dick's and got them each an Ole Miss T-shirt...lol!  Then Wednesday was western wear, Thursday favorite decade wear, and Friday career day.  It was awesome.  They enjoyed it so much and especially not having to wear their school uniforms.

Changes...

Well, 2011 for us started out with some big changes for our family.  On Friday, January 7th Bobby got the news that he was being transferred to a new office in a town called Donaldsonville, Louisiana and that he had to be there at 8:30 a.m. Monday.  Ever since then, I feel like our life has been a "whirlwind" Ha! Okay, so it isn't that dramatic, but this is a place that we have never been before and in the past three weeks, we have had some ups and downs....lots of them.  Mostly, we have just been experiencing a lot of uncertainty about all of this.  It's a tough position they have put Bobby in and he is really having to make some big adjustments.  And....the kids and I are having to make some big adjustments.  But! I am happy to say that we have finally started making some decisions, and as my mama told me, "It will all come together in time".  And it seems like it finally is.  We have reluctantly, but with much peace, decided to allow the kids to finish out the school year at their current school.  So, yes, that means that we will continue on being separated for a few more months.  We feel that the kids would do better if they didn't have to move in the middle of the school year and this would allow us time to search for a good school for them to attend next year.  It also in the meantime will allow us time to sell our house (hopefully).

Bobby found a good RV rental park where he is going to live in my parents' RV.  They own one that is just sitting in their yard with no one using it and they offered it for us to use for as long as we need it.  So, that is where we are at this point....in the middle of getting him moved over there.  Up until now, the company has been putting him up in hotels.  And this coming Monday and Tuesday he will be staying in another hotel in Jackson where he will be taking a class on real estate loans, so that he can eventually be certified in that field.  Also, next month for one weekend he will be attending a manager's meeting in New Orleans.  We were concerned at first about not being able to see him that weekend, but I think we have the solution to that problem, as well.  The kids and I will go stay with him the early part of that week, so instead of seeing him that weekend, we will just get to be with him the early part of the week.

So, I know this is long and there is so much more I could tell, but for now...I just ask that you keep our family in your prayers.  I know that I know that I know that prayer is the key to get people through situations like this and I have seen prayer work right in front of my eyes.  So, I ask you when you are spending time in prayer to please mention us.  Thank you so much and may God continue to bless you and yours!!

These are my two cakes. If you look closely, you can tell which one I made by all the imperfections. The kids loved it, though. I find myself telling them often, "It doesn't matter what it looks like; it's what it tastes like that counts".

This is how Makensie holds Chloe' most all of the time. Have you ever seen a cat that lets a person hold her like a baby? Makensie is the only one that she allows to hold her this way.

This is my sweet and beautiful 2-1/2-year-old niece Reagan. My sister Vicki has been having difficulties finding day care for this little one, so I got to keep her one day a couple of weeks ago. She is so funny and so very smart. I took videos of her singing her "ABC's" and other songs. She blows me away with all that she knows.
