Better Late Than Never...(:

She did it! Bobby & I started back working with Makensie within the past few days trying to get her to ride her bike. We had worked with her a while back, but it seemed that her new bike was too big for her and it was intimidating to her. So we decided to wait a few months to try again. So, a few days ago one late afternoon, Bobby decided to get her out there again. And guess what? Within just a few minutes, she had it down! Yay! Now, she gets on it just about every day and practices some more. She's still a little rough on the edges, but she's getting it. When I finally was able to get her to push herself off and she did it successfully, she stopped, looked at me and yelled, "That was amazing!" Gotta love my amazing, beautiful girl! :)

By the way, if you blow the first picture up and see a nametag on Makensie, it's because she went to VBS all week and they put a nametag on her every day. I get so tickled at how many times her name is misspelled. Funny thing about VBS was on the first day they spelled her name correctly, and I was thinking "Yay, they spelled it right the first day". But ironically, she came home with it spelled a different way every day after that!

Our Visit to Ohio

Posted by Picasa

Our family had the opportunity to visit with Bobby's sister, Cheryl and her family in Ohio last week. This was our first trip to Ohio, and we enjoyed it very much. We split the trip there and the trip home in half so that we wouldn't wear ourselves out with traveling, and we enjoyed that part of the trip, also. It was really nice to get away with my family, and we had a much-needed fun and relaxing time. I have to mention this because it just grips my heart: As we were pulling out the Weatherbee driveway the morning we left, Matthew burst into tears. It can be overwhelming saying goodbye, and as we grow older we seem to be able to control our emotions better. But Matthew is such a sensitive boy that every time we have to leave family we don't get to see often, he always has an emotional overflow. It just breaks my heart. I love my family so much, and am truly grateful for the chance to get away and that we got to see family we haven't seen in a long time. It was such a blessing!
