More Random Christmas Photos

I wasn't my 100% best during the holidays and I kept putting off our cookie decorating until it was too late, so a couple of days after Christmas we pulled out the sprinkles and cookie decorations and made Christmas cookies! Better late than never, I guess :) The kids didn't mind even though we had already taken down all the decorations! I try every year to leave our tree up until New Year's Day, but I just can't stand it - I have to get that thing down. This year I made it to two days after Christmas. Maybe I will try to make it one more day every year until I make it to New Year's Day!
We had a great Christmas. And even though there are so many more things I'd love to get for my children that I just wasn't able to, my heart is full of gratitude to God for all He has done for us. He provides for us every day, and I love Him so much. I got a special visit from my nephew, Josef the day after Christmas. I was disappointed that he and his wife Laura and their 19-month-old son Jackson didn't make it in time to my parents' house the evening of Christmas. So needless to say, what a pleasant surprise it was when he called me to say he wanted to stop by and see me. He and I were really close as kids. We were more like brother and sister than aunt and nephew. We would make a deal with each other - he would have to play Barbies with me if I would play baseball with him. He was so good at baseball that I just knew that he was going to grow up to be a professional baseball player for the Atlanta Braves. He is an engineer now, but still loves baseball. And he and Laura are expecting their 2nd baby in July. I wish them the best and am so honored that they made a special visit to come and see me.
During the holidays, like I said, I wasn't myself so I didn't get the photos I would have if I would have felt better. Matthew and Makensie were in a Christmas program at church where they sang and Makensie read a memory verse. It was so sweet. Sorry I missed the opportunity to get pictures. Bobby and I begged Matt to play a solo on the piano, but he says he now has stage fright and will not do it again.
Well, I just wanted to give a little update on the happenings in our lives over the holidays. I wish all of you a blessed and safe new year in 2009. God bless!
