Beach Park Fun

On Tuesday the kids & I met Kelly & the girls at the beach park. They all had their swimsuits on, ready to get wet! It was such a beautiful day, and not too hot with it being so near the water. The pier should be opening back up any day now. We are so looking forward to walking over it for the first time. The kids were having so much fun that we stayed for almost three hours. When we go back the next time we hope Mr. Snowcone man will have his shop set up :)

Graduation

On Tuesday, May 13th, Makensie graduated from Kindergarten. She is officially a first-grader! The ceremony was awesome. The Ensemble sang two beautiful songs and then the graduating class made their entrance one by one. They sang two cute songs - "I Am a Promise" and "What Do you Want to Be When You Grow Up". After this second song, each of them was asked to say what they want to be when they grow up, and Makensie said, "My name is Makensie, and I want to be a teacher". I was so impressed that she spoke with such confidence, not to mention that this was the first I had heard that she wants to be a teacher. Later I asked her if she really wants to be a teacher, and she said, "I might change my mind". Also, they had a power point presentation where they had about five pictures of each child that was graduating going across the screen. I had given some really cute pictures of Makensie, and when her first picture came up, some people in the audience said, "Awwwww". Of course, that made me smile. After the ceremony, there was a beautiful reception. It was really nice. Each graduate got a nice gift, and everything was perfect. We really have some talented and creative parents and people on our staff. I am so proud of my little girl!

JUST AN UPDATE

Hi Everyone! I hope all is well with you and your family. Our family is looking forward to summertime! Makensie's last day of school is tomorrow and her Kindergarten graduation is tomorrow night. Of course, there will be pictures of that very soon. Matthew's last day of school is Wednesday. On my previous post of April 29th I had talked about his class field trip to an art museum in New Orleans. Well, at the last minute we changed our plans and decided not to go. We chose to have a "family fun day" instead. So we kept the kids out of school and took them to Chuck E. Cheese. They both have been begging Bobby & me to take them there, so we finally did. It's not my favorite place to eat or be for that matter, but sometimes we as parents have to sacrifice our wants for what our kids want. Afterwards, my favorite part was window shopping at the outlet mall and the scenic drive home along the beach. The following evening, which was Saturday, Bobby & the kids took me out to eat at TGI Friday's as my Mother's Day gift from them. My favorite part of that evening was our banana splits that we made when we got home!

On Tuesday, May 6th Bobby & I celebrated our 13th anniversary. It just so happened to be my day to work in the office at the school, so he had 13 flowers delivered to me. He gave me 7 yellow tulips and 6 yellow roses. What can I say about my wonderful husband except that I love him so much and I wouldn't know what to do without him. He's my best friend.

Well, this has just been an update. No pictures were taken of any of these occasions - I know, a real shocker, so I just wanted to sum up what has been happening over the past few days in our household. Our children are so looking forward to being out of school. Matthew can't wait to spend time at his grandparents' house and Makensie is so ready to go swimming. She will take lessons again this summer, this time at the YMCA, starting in June.

From our family to yours, we pray that you have a blessed and safe summer! May Jesus bless you all!

Love,
Bobby, Jennifer, Matthew & Makensie

Makensie wanted out of her tutu as quickly as possible, so after I helped her change, we took a few more pictures.

Proud Daddy
We were all very impressed with the way Makensie just went out there and "showed her stuff". Words just can't express how proud we were of her!
IT'S SHOWTIME!

Here is a video of part of her performance. She is the third one from the left. This was a huge theater and even though we sat really close, we still could not get close enough! Also, we had to drive 45 minutes in pouring rain to get there. Still, it was an amazing show.

Today Makensie & I went on a class field trip to a farm! Mak had such a great time. We learned some fun and interesting facts about horses and got to see and touch some amazing animals. Here are a few pictures of our most fascinating day.
